Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Relai. By creating an account or using the Relai app or website, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Relai.

Who can use Relai

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you're under the age where you can agree to these terms on your own in your region, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and your account details accurate. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, email us and we'll help.

Acceptable use

Relai transcribes live audio, which comes with real-world responsibilities that stay with you:

• You're responsible for obtaining any consent legally required before recording other people. Recording laws differ by region, and some require everyone in the room to agree.
• You're responsible for following your school's policies, including its academic-integrity and recording rules. How and where you use Relai within your institution's rules is your call and your responsibility.
• Don't use Relai to break the law, to harass anyone, or to try to breach, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.

Subscriptions and billing

Relai has a free plan and paid plans (Pro at $15/month and Max at $29/month). Payments are processed by Stripe. Paid plans are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. Plan limits (like transcription minutes) reset each billing month and unused amounts don't roll over.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel anytime. For now, email contact@get-relai.com from your account email and we'll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops future charges; your paid features keep working until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't prorate partial months, but if something went genuinely wrong with a charge, email us and we'll sort it out.

What Relai is (and isn't)

Relai's answers are generated by AI from your lecture's transcript and, on Pro, your uploaded materials. AI makes mistakes. Answers can be incomplete, outdated, or plain wrong, so treat them as a study aid and verify anything that matters. Relai is not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

Changes to the service

Relai is young and moving fast. We may add, change, or discontinue features, and adjust plan limits for future billing periods. If we make a change that meaningfully reduces what you're paying for, we'll tell you before your next renewal.

Disclaimer of warranties

Relai is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of transcriptions or answers, and uninterrupted availability. Live transcription depends on your hardware, network, and third-party providers, and may occasionally fail or be inaccurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Relai will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or academic or disciplinary consequences arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Termination

You can stop using Relai and delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; if we do, we'll say why unless the law prevents it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Relai is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We'll update this section with the specific jurisdiction as the company completes its registration.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
